In early March 2004, the Talladega coaches (Chrystal Badders, Audrey Chatman, Liba Peters, and Johnnie Tankersly) introduced the work of Cornerstone to their colleagues at Lincoln Elementary School in Talladega. Liba led with the Cornerstone Overview video and then considered with them how the overall culture of the school as well as the classroom is pivotal in establishing a "climate for literacy learning." The Cornerstone environment video was used in facilitating that conversation. Johnnie shared the framework and quickly reviewed its components, followed by Chrystal and Audrey providing the following powerpoint of exemplars from the framework and how they might look. Everyone involved with Cornerstone is excited about expanding the work into other schools. |
