In this work we run the gamut of emotion ... from pure joy to utter frustration and all points in between. That we have recommended seven schools for Foundation Status combines joy and admiration with gratitude, joy in the accomplishments of valued colleagues; admiration for the depth of their work; and gratitude for their perseverance through four years of sometimes very intense and intensive change.

Foundation Status is not an end, it's a beginning. (Goodness, this is beginning to sound like a commencement address.) It is the commencement of chapter two, sustaining and growing the work in your schools and extending it to other colleagues in the district. It is in those arenas that Cornerstone's impact will ultimately be judged.

For the next three years Foundation schools will receive additional support from Cornerstone to further this work. We look forward to this new colleagueship and the road we will travel. You've taught us a great deal about the nature of teaching practice and the challenge of change. We will always be grateful. Heartiest best wishes on this major accomplishment.
