This goes so well with our focus on non-fiction and literacy across the curriculum.

ALWAYS LOOKING TO THE NEXT
GET-TOGETHER

The Cornerstone Regional Meetings bring colleagues together again in some wonderful, fresh learning experiences. We know it is still a few months away, but we're already planning and looking forward to that it:

  • Southern Regional Meeting from February 9 - 11 (Thursday midday to Saturday noon) with Muscogee, Horry County and possible Foundation schools from Talladega and Jackson. Horry County will be our gracious hosts once again!
  • Northern Regional Meeting from March 9 - 11 (Thursday midday to Saturday noon) with New Haven, Springfield and Stamford. Springfield has graciously agreed to be our host.

More information and details will be forthcoming!

RIGDON ROAD ELEMENTARY RECEIVES AWARD

Rigdon Road Elementary School in Muscogee, Georgia was recently awarded the Blue Ribbon Award for No Child Being Left Behind. The children were each recognized by Blue Bell Ice Cream with a special ice cream treat. An anonymous community member donated funds for each teacher to fly to Washington, visit the White House, Pennsylvania Avenue, have lunch, and attend the formal award presentation, and return by flight on the same day (Veteran's Day -- Oct. 11, '05). Congratulations to the Ridgon Road Learning Community!
