Talking About Text

The Cornerstone Literacy Interactive Model of Reading supports student communication about texts that are read aloud to students, texts read in groups such as book clubs and guided reading, and texts read independently. This communication builds engagement, interest, and deepens students' understanding of what it means to be literate and live in a world where reading is valued. An important avenue to communicate about texts is through the talk that happens in the classroom.
