Video Conferencing Etiquette:
Excerpt from "Be George Jetson", Forbes Magazine, 08.20.01

DON'T YELL. The microphones are sensitive -- there's no need to raise your voice.

DON'T WHISPER. Everything gets amplified during a video call. (Yes, we can hear you. If you need to say something that nobody else should hear, press the MUTE button.) Heavy sighs, coughing and paper-shuffling also come through loud and clear.

SIT STILL. Tapping with a pen is annoying during a regular meeting and utterly distracting in a videoconference. Avoid rocking in your chair. It blurs the video.

PAY ATTENTION. Everyone can see you. Don't doodle, yawn or eat pizza.

DON'T BE A SCORSESE. Resist getting hung up adjusting camera shots framing angles or directing action--this isn't Hollywood.

That being said: When looking through the "self-view", you should look like this:

RIGHT (Centered on the participants AND zoomed in)

WRONG (Not centered OR zoomed too far away)

OR A SOPRANO. Avoid wearing small, busy patterns that make it harder for the camera to focus. Lose the flashy jewelry that might reflect light.
